Top Ten Books I’ve Recently Added To My TBR

The bookish community is one of my new addictions and I didn’t even know it was a thing until I started following some booktubers last year (like Kristin, the other Kristin and Melissa), but it was just because I loved them for their blogs or Instagram profiles, now that I want to read more, I have to find some motivation to share my journey. That’s how I stumbled upon the Top Ten Tuesday feature by Broke and Bookish. I’m not going to participate every single week, but I wanted to try it once, at least.

My TBR pile is huge and counts books added like ten years ago, I don’t even keep them all on Goodreads because it makes me too much pressure, so I keep a private Trello board to manage my readings. Here are the titles I recently added to my TBR list.

1. Career of Evil by Robert Galbraith (aka JK Rowling)

Despite all the bad criticism I’m reading online, I actually enjoyed the adventures of Cormoran Strike! The reason why I didn’t purchase this book yet is because I’m waiting for the italian edition, so my mom can read it too.

The NovelTea Book Club read this book last year and now I want to read it too, since I’m an introvert and I am tired of being surrounded by people who cannot stay alone with themselves for more than a hour.

3. City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

I watched the movie a couple of years ago and I really enjoyed it, despite the eyebrows of the main character (come on, Lily Collins!) and the fact that I watched it only because Aidan Turner was in the cast. Now I want to read the book and watch the TV series.

4. The Miracle Morning Journal by Hal Elrod

I read the best reviews about this book and I love all things productivity and living a better life, so I can’t wait to read it! There is only one problem: I keep calling the author Elrond…

5. Mary Poppins by P.L. Travers

Can I tell you a secret? I had no idea that Mary Poppins’ story was born from a book! I discovered it just watching Saving Mr. Banks and I decided I HAD to read the book sooner or later.

Sean Astin will always be my dear Sam and I’m mad with myself for not having read his book about his journey filming The Lord of the Rings yet!

7. Murder, She Wrote: Death of a Blue Blood by Jessica Fletcher, Donald Bain

Jessica Fletcher is my childhood hero and the reason why visiting Maine is on my bucket list since I was a child. I’ve read tons of books written by Donald Bain (who ghostwrites for Jessica) and I LOVE them. This one should be realeased in italian soon and I’m waiting for it, because my mom loves reading this series too.

All my favorite bloggers talked about this book + I love reading about time management, so it’s time to finally tackle it!

9. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

I HAVE to read this book. Nothing more to say.

I’ve never read any book written by Gilbert and I strongly disliked the film with Julia Roberts, but this is going to be the February reading of the NovelTea Book Club and I read amazing reviews about it that I’m very excited to discover Gilbert’s writing style.
