Today is the last day of 2015 and I wanted to share a recap of the past 12 months here on the blog, but I didn’t actually know where to start, because I didn’t want to write anything like “read my most famous posts of 2015!”. So I decided to use Jamie’s annual End of the Year Survey and adapt to my blog, since I don’t write about books and I only read 22 of them during the year. Ha!
Best post you wrote in 2015? I really love how Being More with Less in 2016 turned out, not sure if people will appreciate it or not though! 🙂
Best series you
started abandoned in 2015? Happy Monday, I loved that series, but it seems nobody was really enjoying it.
Shortest & Longest post you wrote In 2015? The shortest post is probably May the Fourth Be With You.
Favorite review that you wrote in 2015? I’m bad at writing reviews, but I loved rambling about The Battle of the Five Armies film back in January!
Best discussion/non-review post you had on your blog? London Snapshots | Vol. 1 brought me an unexpected amount of comments from my readers and I was so happy to share my love for London with other people!
Best moment of blogging life in 2015? Receiving an email from the Trello staff to let me know they really enjoyed my post How I Planned my Trip to London with Trello (and proving to have actually read it until the very end). But also being mentioned in a YouTube video and receiving an email from a fellow blogger who justed wanted to let me know how much she appreciates my posts.
Most challenging thing about blogging this year? Not being able to invest some money in a better platform. I hate Blogspot!
Most popular post this year on your blog (whether it be by comments or views)? Google Analytics says that How I Use Trello, Asana and Evernote to Organize my Blog is the winner! I’m glad because I put so much work into that post and I really hope someone found it useful.
Post you wished got a little more love? My review of Spark, that ecourse saved my blogging life from burnout!
Did you complete any goals that you had set for yourself at the beginning of this year? I’ve been able to stick with 2/3 blog posts per week for almost the entire year, so, yeah, I completed my goal!
One post you didn’t write in 2015 but will be your number 1 priority in 2016? The (FREE) Blogger Toolbox for Beginners is on my Asana To Write list since this Summer, but I never found the right inspiration and enough time to actually write it. I know there will be tons of new bloggers during the next few months and I’d like to share my advice for those who will start from scratch without having a solid income, just like me five years ago.
One thing you hope to accomplish or do in your blogging life in 2016? Finding a way to earn money and move to another blogging platform.
And now the big announcement…I’ve been selected for being a member of Becky Higgins 2016 Creative Team!
One year ago, I discovered the Project Life App and the whole Project Life (also known as pocket scrapbooking) concept and it changed my life. You might not know it, but I spent every single Sunday of 2015 creating weekly spreads documenting my life with photos and words, even when I was away from home, and now I have a full (still digital) album of my past year! (You can see all the 52 layouts at my Studio Calico gallery.) I couldn’t be more grateful for being a memory keeper and excited for the months ahead!
What will this mean for the blog? Well, last month I took my very first reader survey, asking what you wanted to see more on the blog, and the answer really surprised me: Geekiness/5 Fandom Friday and Everyday Life/Personal kind of posts totally won. This couldn’t be more perfect, I thought! My plan, in fact, was to share at least once a month my Project Life layouts here on the blog, telling you more about me, my life and the past month.
I really hope you’ll enjoy my blog in 2016 as much as you did in 2015, your support meant the world to me and I couldn’t be more excited for this amazing online community!
P.s. If you feel yourself particularly brave (and geek) I wrote about my year from a Tolkien-themed point of view on my (super neglected) side-blog.
