Harry Potter tags are my jam. I recently shared my Hogwarts Story, so you might already know everything about me and JK Rowling’s world, but Kristin of Super Space Chick tagged me for The Ultimate Harry Potter Tag and I couldn’t say no!
I don’t have a favourite book, I can’t pick one! I love the first books because I read them when I was a child and Harry was a child too, but I also like the others, because it’s where things actually happen.
Least favorite book?
My least favourite book is Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, because it was the very first HP book I’ve read. My mom watched the news on TV and discovered these amazing book saga from an unknown author and, thanks to all the great critics, she decided I had to read them. She went at the supermarket and bought the Prisoner of Azkaban, because it was the only on sale there. I was 8/9, I started reading a decontestualized book, I didn’t read the previous two ones, so I didn’t like it!
My favourite film is Harry Potter and the Chamber of the Secrets, because they story is amazing and it was still directed by Columbus, my favourite filmmaker of the saga.
Least favorite movie?
Again, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, but this time it’s because I highly disliked how they changed many things from the first two movies, starting from the Hogwarts scenery, the yard and the entrance of Hagrid’s house, the lands around the castle, the absence of school uniforms…I could go on and on. I love details, HP is full of details and the first two movies were just as I always pictured the books in my mind.
I’m terribly bad at remembering quotes, since I always read the books and watched the movies in italian. So I’m going to copy Kristin’s choice because I think she chose a wonderful line from Dumbledore: “Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the light.”.
Fred, but you know what happens 😦
Favorite female character?
Hermione, hands down.
Professor Snape. I know there is an army of Severus’ lovers ready to defend him, but he will always be a villain to me. I don’t love him for all the things he did and said to Harry, Ron and Hermione that weren’t necessary to his front. I say he’s my fave villain, because JK Rowling did a wonderful job with the character in my opinion.
Favorite male character?
Dumbledore, he’s a beautiful character in his imperfections.
Professor McGonagall is my favorite character and I LOVED her during the Battle of Hogwarts!
A. Wash Snape’s hair, or B. Spend a day listening to Lockhart rant about himself.
I dislike Lockhart, but washing Snape’s hair would be so disgusting that I choose A.
Duel A. An elated Bellatrix, or B. An andry Molly
A hands down. I love the Weasleys and I couldn’t fight with them.
Travel to Hogwarts via A. Hogwarts Express or B. Flying car
Hogwarts Express, of course! I always wanted to travel in it and I’d be quite scared by the car.
A. Kiss Voldemort or B. Give Umbridge a bubble bath
Do not jusge me, please, but Voldemort is gross…
A. Ride a Hippogriff or B. Ride a Firebolt
A, I’m too clumsy and scared to ride a broomstick!
Is there a character which you felt differently about in the movies VS books?
Yes, Ginny Weasley is an adorable and funny girl in the books, but I hate how thet portrayed her in the movies. She’s annoying and without personality, I really disliked her in the movies (sorry Bonnie).
Is there a movie you preferred instead of the book?
Richard Harris or Michael Gambon as Dumbledore?
Richard Harris has a special place in my heart.
Your top thing (person or event) which wasn’t included in the movie that annoyed you most?
I always wanted to see Peeves the Poltergeist! It wouldn’t be so funny on screen.
If you could remake any of the Potter movies, which would it be?
The Prisoner of Azkaban, because I didn’t like how they changed the surroundings of Hogwarts, Hagrid’s house and many other details (no more school uniforms, why?). I usually observe very carefully details in every movie and I love them, the third film lost a lot of the magic of the first two ones.
Whisch house was your first gut feeling you’d be a part of?
Everybody wanted to be a Griffindor reading the books, in my opinion.
Which house were you actually sorted into on Pottermore (or another sorting quiz)?
Which class would be your favourite?
Which spell do you think would be most useful to learn?
The Summoning Charm I’m the laziest person alive.
Which character do you think at Hogwarts you’d instantly become best friends with?
Book Ginny, because she’s smart and funny and normal!
If you could own one of the three Hallows, which would it be?
The Invisibility Cloak for sure.
Is there any aspect of the books you’d want to change? This can be a character, and event, anything.
Unpopular opinion: I never liked the very last chapter where Harry and his friends accompany their children at King’s Cross. I always thought it was a forced moment and something we could definitely imagine without reading it, I also think that Harry and Ginny exaggerated with the choice of the names for their children.
Lupin, he was the most reasonable guy of the company. I always thought that James was a jerk.
If you could bring one character back to life, which would it be?
Hedwig. I’m still crying.
Hallows or horcruxes?
Hallows! I wouldn’t kill another person to divide my soul!
